State Representative Paul Workman

Republican Paul Workman is the conservative State Representative for southern and western Travis County, serving District 47 in the Texas House of Representatives since 2011.

Paul has been named Legislator of the Year by the Real Estate Council of Austin, a “Lone Star Conservative Leader” by the Texas Conservative Roundtable, a “Free Enterprise Chamption” by the Associated Builders and Contractors, a “Fighter for Free Enterprise” by the Texas Association of Business, and a “Courageous Conservative” by the Texas Conservative Coalition.

Paul is a member of the House Committee on Business & Industry and the House Committee on Economic & Small Business Development. He also serves as a member on the Economic & Small Business Development Subcommittee on Manufacturing. Paul serves by appointment on The Energy Council, which helps facilitate the development of national energy policy matters among the Southwestern states.

Paul earned a B.S. in Building Construction from Texas A&M University in 1973 before joining the U.S. Army Reserves where he retired at the rank of Captain after 10 years of service.

A Rotarian since 1976, Paul has been active in several civic organizations, including the Associated General Contractors, Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse, and the Real Estate Council of Austin.

Paul and his wife Sherry have two children and six grandchildren. The Workmans are active members of the Pedernales River Fellowship.
